Week 9 in Review

I can't believe we're past 9 weeks already! And our first appointment is this week, I'm so excited, and nervous, but so excited!

This week has been great overall. During the days I've had more energy, but the nights, I think they should call it "evening sickness" - maybe it's because I'm out of energy, but the nights have been tough. Bless my husband, he's really been great. Dinner has literally been ready to go when I get home, and mostly it's been delicious, well it's always delicious, he's a fantastic cook, but you know, I guess I'm more finicky now, so I haven't always cleaned my plate. Anyway, I mean, he's even brought me smoothies, met me for lunch at work (Goldie's BBQ, so delicious, painful later, but oh so worth it!) - he's given me backrubs at night, and hasn't even minded my stripping down to sweats the second I get home.

Today I even offered to splurge and buy him an Xbox because he deserves it, thankfully he's practical and knows we don't really need one, but I've gotta think of something special to do...(hmmm...)

Anyway, aside from the "evening sickness" - all's well. As you can tell through the previous posts, we've had a busy week, so when I had the chance to veg out on a Friday night, by myself, I took full advantage! I bought some lasagna, garlic bread, rented a couple movies and came home prepared for a great evening in. I ended up eating a piece of garlic bread, two bites of lasgana and crashing on the couch at 7:30. Haha. Yeah, crazy Friday night! I woke up around 9:30, decided to watch a few shows on DVR, hubby came home, went to bed, I decided around 10pm (wide awake now) to start watching Pretty Woman, which was on TV. I realized I've never actually seen the whole movie, and it's a great movie. Towards the end, I swear, the hormones kicked in, because I couldn't stop crying!!! Not like, bawling, but just a little non-stop stream of tears. It. Was. Ridiculous! I'm not a movie crier typically, and it wasn't a sad movie really, but wow. Definitely a "pregnancy thing!"

Another pregancy thing? I don't know how soon you start having "cravings" necessarily, but I've seriously been having a food crush on cinnamon. It sounds good all the time. I even called Brandon one day and asked if we could just have cinnamon rolls for dinner! I made a special trip to Costco on my lunch hour for a churro; I ordered a (decaf) cinnamon dulce latte; I put cinnamon and raisins in my oatmeal. Cinnamon everything! Mmmm... even now (even though I'm incredibly full) rice pudding sounds delish!

This weekend we had nothing on our plates, so we decided to waste both days going shopping - didn't buy anything - but just window shopped really. It was pretty fun, normally we'd stay away from anything kiddie/baby, but now, it's different - we decided to brave it out and step inside. Our first attempt - well, now I can't remember the name, but we walked in, walked out. Too much. Babies everywhere, frills everywhere. Nope, maybe we're not ready for this!! Hahaha, after recollecting, we tried stop two, we convinced ourselves we were shopping for our friend's baby - and we walked into Children's Place. Ok, not so bad. We naturally drifted towards the boy's sections - cute clothes, fun stuff. There were little baby ties, oh, my, gosh, SO. CUTE. ...Those ties were adorable. Little man suits, clip on ties... if I find an orange tie, I will buy it, regardless!

We went to the girl's side and I fell in love with all the accessories: baby headbands, hats, tu-tus, adorable shoes, oh yeah, this could be fun!

We went to a few other stores, stopped in at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for a caramel apple - it was inhaled. Yumm..... next on the food menu? Mexican - a little hole in the wall restaurant we love to go to - they have delicious chips and salsa / sopapillas with honey - I could (might have) eaten baskets full! I also chowed down on a HUGE burrito, thankfully didn't finish it all - it was ginormous! And after that we called it a Saturday, came home, had a slight food coma, and took a nap!

Sunday, we headed out again, new little shopping center - new stores. One that I fell in love with? Goodnight Room. Now THIS is the kind of stuff I like - new, trendy, modern, classic - no frills, no over the top - great stuff. It was fun to browse and get ideas for a nursery. However....I think we're really going to have to wait to find out if we'll have a little lady or a little man before we decide, which kind of ruins my plan of not finding out. I realize it would be a LOT tougher to actually make any decisions if we didn't find out, plus I think I'm the only one within a 10 mile radius that wanted to wait, haha, we'll see....

It was really fun to see Brandon get excited about the thought of sharing his old toys. We saw Lego bins, and he started talking about all his old legos, micro machines, ninja turtles, etc. We saw a foam sword and he was having so much fun with it! We even saw a train set that was set up on the celing of a store and he got excited that he has a train set with tracks and everything! It made me really happy to see him get excited about all that - I'm smiling just writing about it!

Next week I'll post the first "bump" picture, yay! It's been a long, crazy, exciting week 9 - I know Week 10 will be the same, so excited for the appointment!!

Lucky Rabbit's Feet

So...not sure if you know this, but fun fact of the week?

We were told that back in the day pregnancy tests consisted of injecting urine into a rabbit, if it died, you were pregnant. So. Weird. Brandon's grandparents shared that little tale with us, and I couldn't get over it, that is crazy! Well naturally, I start thinking...is that where luck rabbit's feet come from? Like, "Congratulations! Here's your lucky rabbit's foot" - as a way for the doctor to tell you the good news. I'm sure it's a stretch, but it kind of makes sense doesn't it? Well apparently my brain thinks so, because I dreamt about it this week, that at our appointment scheduled on Tuesday, the doctor gave me a turquoise rabbit's foot keychain.

It stuck with me for a couple of days, and I decided we needed to investigate this a little bit - here's what we found, courtesy of Snopes.com http://www.snopes.com/pregnant/rabbit.asp

Apparently all rabbits died, which is still nuts! And... upon further research, look at this! http://www.threelittleladiesrabbitry.com/luckyfoot.php -It may be a stretch, but there's a connection! :) Rabbit's Feet = Fertility

I'll chalk this one up as me being right!

Chalkboard, finished!

I finally finished the chalkboard, and got my first message on it. I do think this is going to be a fun way to share updates and keep track of weekly progress. Here’s my first message.

I have to give credit again to Pinterest/littlebabygarvin.blogspot.com for the idea; I love it so much that I’m probably going to do the exact same thing.

I think I’ll start the “week #” updates at Week 10. It probably sounds weird, but I don’t want to start my photos on an odd number, but, I’ll still do a weekly update! …maybe I’ll change my mind, who knows, but I will start it soon!

**update!** - so we got alot of use out of the chalkboard this week! It seemed like the perfect way to break the news - we started with Brandon's sister!

Monday Night: We came over for a little family dinner - I was in the kitchen chatting it up with her as Brandon snuck the chalkboard out of the car and into her room. Once it was safe, I asked her if I could borrow a pair of socks (I had to get her up to her room!) She ran upstairs...we all huddled in the living room, waiting for the reaction... she came down the stairs with the socks and I think we were all a little shocked... I mean, the chalkboard isn't small by anymeans...how's she miss it?! Quick on his feet, her Dad kind of peeked in her room, and told her, "I think the cat got sick in your room...is it on your bed? You better come look..." -nice thinking!

She came back upstairs...we waited... BOOM! She saw it, and the reaction I'll never forget - She. Was So. Excited!! It really was pretty great, and then of course, "I knew it!!" "I knew it!!" - how you ask? LOL, "your boobs are HUGE!" ::blushing::.... now, for a NORMAL person, not so much, but when you start with nothing, I suppose a little makes a big difference.

We ended up taking pictures with the board, I don't know if I'm ready to post them, they were definitely "food baby" and "comfy clothes" pics... haha.

Tuesday Night: We had made aromise to our best friends that when we found out, they would be the next to know after family. Well, I really want to tell my famly in person, or at least face to face, and since they're all out of town that makes it difficult, so I decided we'd better tell the BFFs. I'd called with a cover story - had an interview that day and wanted to go out for dessert to recap it - they were kind of busy, lots to do, and were kind of, meh, about it. Well, that wasn't going to do, so I pushed a little harder, it's dessert! Everyone can make time for dessert, right? Well maybe I pushed a little too hard, I practically invited myself over and offered to BRING dessert, yeah, I pushed a little hard... She ended up calling me back and saying they'd be down for dinner/dessert. Next, I had to convince them that'd we'd drive (meeting there wouldn't really work with my plan) - this probably sent a few red flags, we never offer to drive, haha!

We get to their house, whip out the chalkboard out of the trunk and set it up against the car so they'd see it when we left - not a minute later they were walking out the door, (they were starving!) - Ian was the first to notice, and then Emily.... "I knew it!" "I knew it!" ---again! Everyone seems to have known it! Both excited, we shared some of our stealth stories, like NYE and Canada, they had no idea! Woo hoo, at least we know we pulled it off!!

It's such a relief finally telling them, a huge weight off the shoulders, and now I finally have someone to share ideas with! Within 24 hours I had emails about nursery ideas, and decorating tips, this is going to be so much fun!

Wednesday Night: Day 4 of our "Telling Tour" - (I'm starting to get exhausted, we haven't spent a night home since last Thursday!) ---we head to the Grandparents, wait, make that Great Grandparents house...chalkboard in hand (told you we got a lot of use out of it!) We get to the door, knock, and as soon as the door opens, first thing they see is the sign. Grandpa opened the door, stared at the sign for a minute, looked at me, looked at the sign, pointed to me and questioned... like the smart alleck that I am, I respond "who else would it be?!" :)

Grandma comes to the door, sees the sign, and just like her daughter, like exactly the same, responds, "really?!.... really?!" - it was great!

---I've retired the sign for the week, want to think of some other creative ways to share the news with MY family, I'm thinking it will involve Skype somehow, since both my sister's live ridiculously far away... but more on that when it develops.

Week 8 in Review

This past week has been good! I’ve been kind of tired; taking naps on my lunch breaks has been a lifesaver! But, I’ve also had a bit more energy at the end of the day; I even worked out…once. :)

Last night, after a day of admittingly not doing much, I lay down in bed and this was the conversation I had with my husband:
Me: I’m exhausted!
Him: Oh yeah, you had a hard day…
Me: Uh, yeah…. I made a spleen today! Have you ever made one?? It’s tough work! (We’d just read that that’s what my body is busy working on these days)
Him: Hey, I did half the work!
Me: No…. it’s like making a cake. You’re the flour. You’re a very important ingredient, but I’m all the eggs, and sugar and extra stuff, and I’m the one mixing it all together, I’m the one doing all the work!
Him: So…. we’re going to have a dense kid?
Us: Laughing non-stop.

See, we have this ongoing joke about my baking, which I love to do, but whenever I bake from scratch, my cakes/cupcakes always turn out pretty dense. It was really funny last night, for those that know us, this is our humor and we’ll probably laugh about it again and again.

Anyway, back to the recap – good week! There hasn’t really been any food aversions, my sense of smell is ridiculous! It’s like a super power, sometimes good, sometimes not so much, like when someone is smoking in the car ahead of me on the road – bleh!! But the smell of cinnamon, oh my…. I have been on a bit of a cinnamon kick this week; it smells SO GOOD, and tastes good for that matter. In my oatmeal, in my drinks, I even found some of that Mexican rice pudding and thought I could probably live off it. I can’t really recall anything else, well, there is one other thing…

We went to “Dinner Club” -a little group of our friends that try to get together for dinner at someone’s house on Friday nights – and out of the group of I’d say 7-8 couples, 4 of them now have kiddos or ones on the way very soon. One of the “non-kiddos” couples (For this stories purpose, I am in the “non-kiddo” category, because we haven’t announced yet).

Anyways, they were hosting so we all went to their house and ever so subtly they had a sonogram photo on their fridge from 2 weeks ago. We all noticed it and she confirmed, she’s 8 weeks pregnant, due August 30th! ......yep, are you thinking what I thought? ………..pretty much the exact SAME DUE DATE!!! What?!?! They are SO excited, they’ve been trying for a while, so this is really special. The funny thing? Everyone, and I mean almost everyone, was like, “I knew someone was pregnant, I could just feel it in the air, I thought it was Darci!” ----like everyone said the same thing.

Hahahahaha, so, I really haven’t been as stealthy as I’d thought. Running low on it. It should be interesting to share this experience with someone going through the same thing, at the same time! And…. It should be interesting when we do decide to share the news with everyone, they’ll know their instincts were right all along!

Running low on stealthiness…

Exciting news this week? We told Brandon’s parents! We were really excited/nervous but I realized I’ve pretty much used up all my stealthiness, and I was slipping quite a bit, and I think people were/are catching on. So, first order of business, the ‘rents. How’d we share? Well, Brandon’s mom is a huge crafter and an amazing scrapbooker. She has a Cricut machine (laser cutter) and right after we found out I saw this themed cartridge that I thought would be a perfect way to share the news. (I know the photo isn't all that great, but the cartridge is called "9 months").

Last night we came over, I was going to learn how to use my Cricut machine and Brandon was going to watch football with his dad. I wrapped up the cartridge and during half time I took it out of my purse and gave it to his mom as a “late Christmas present” – see, I’m losing it, I couldn’t even think of something super sneaky/creative to say! Regardless, she opened it up, looked at it, and exclaimed, “….really?!” – and gave me a huge hug, it was pretty amazing. They told us they’d thought maybe, possibly, but weren’t going to ask. Dah! See, I told you, I’ve been slipping! Especially since my little flub the night before probably sealed the deal. What happened you ask?

Saturday night we went out for Brandon’s sister’s boyfriend’s birthday – I got through dinner no slip ups, but when we went to a local bar for his surprise party…that’s where the trouble started. I went to the bar, Brandon ordered a drink, I went wild and ordered a Shirley Temple, haha. Drink in hand we meet up with the group, only to be welcomed with Fireball shots. Everyone circled up to “cheers” and I realized there probably was no way to get out of it – it was all happening so fast. We all “cheers” –everyone goes to drink—I decide I’ll fake shoot it, and throw it behind my back, but I don’t want to get it on my jacket so I instead just dump it on the floor. Phewww…. Right? Yeah, not really. See, it’s like 8:30, and there is NO ONE at the bar, therefore the huge puddle of cinnamon liquid on the floor is pretty obvious. No.... really obvious!

I try and play it off for maybe like a minute, and then decide I need to clean it up, I don’t want someone to fall and hurt themselves! I come out of the bathroom with a bunch of towels, and Brandon’s sister looks at me, looks at the floor, looks at me again and says “did you throw your drink on the ground?!” – damn. I reply, “No! When I took the shot, my Shirley Temple spilled!” – Double damn. I think she believed me; maybe she didn’t catch on to the whole Shirley Temple thing… the night continues and thankfully, one of the guys in the group decided he doesn’t want to get too crazy, but needs to give the Birthday Boy a good time, so we all start taking group shots of “vodka and tequila” – he goes to the bar, gets 10 water shots (for all of us) and 1 real shot (for the birthday boy), and we play that up for a few rounds, which was perfect for me!

Apparently, Brandon’s sister was recapping the night the next morning with the parents and somehow or another told them that she thought I was pregnant maybe, because my boobs looked bigger (hahahahaha, true, but I didn’t realize it was obvious!) and that if I was, and I did take shots last night she was going to be so pissed at me! Well, Jenny, yes you’re right, and no I didn’t take the shot, so maybe I did have a little bit of stealthiness left! Not enough to last another week, so tonight after work we’re bringing over my chalkboard to share the news!

Week 7 in Review

It's amazing what can change in a week! My last post, about two weeks ago, I felt like I was "blissful" so to speak, ha! I think I literally woke up the next morning and anything and everything I had talked about in my last post, was the exact opposite. First week on nausea, morning sickness, food aversions, moodiness, you name it!

One pregnancy thing that's new this week, exhaustion! I've literally been taking naps in my car on my lunch hour every day because I'm so tired! Maybe it's the lack of caffeine, or because of all the magic going on inside, but yyaawwnnn.... so sleepy!!

Probabaly the worst? Bloating. Oh. My. Gosh. Like, I've just wanted to stick a needle in my stomach and deflate. It has been ridiculously painful and I look like I'm 5 months pregnant. I joked with Brandon that if it doesn't get better that I needed to wear spanx on my first photo so it looks like I have a somewhat flat stomach for my "before" pictures. It even got to the point where I have my first ridiculous melt down. I blame it 100% on the hormones...ha! I started bawling because I was tired of complaining about my stomach hurting. Not because of the pain, because I didn't like complaining, and I literally started sobbing, I felt ridiculous.

Thankfully, and I'm afraid to say it, it's gotten better, hopefully it stays that way! In better positive news, I'm really excited that last weekend I started on a little project that I hope to use throughout my pregnancy as my "photo journal." I got the idea from Pinterest - a chalk board with updates each week and a profile photo. All for under $20! (photo!)

As far as my sneakiness goes... I think some people are catching on, ugh! Haha, there's a gal at work who's son just turned one - and there's been a few times (like when I was keeled over with my stomach ache, and not wanting the cheesecake that was brought in) that she was like, "hmmm, I remember that....anything you want to tell us??" It's been an ongoing joke for months, but now it's real, and I think she's catching on.... Oh! I guess this is a good place to share, I actually did her son's First Birthday cake and cupcakes (my first paid gig!)

We went to a friend's birthday last night, and I've told everyone that my January goal is no alcohol, and it's been working - however, as with anytime you're fibbing, you've got to keep your story straight, and I forgot rule number one!! At work, I've told everyone it's coffee and alcohol, so they don't get suspicious about my lack of coffee, but I forgot that everyone else thinks it's just booze. Whoops!! Of course, just having a regular conversation with my best friend last night, she caught right on to that and was like, "wait.... coffee too?? I thought it was just booze?.... is this going to last longer than January...??" and then...the look. (Damn....) I tried to laugh it off with an eye roll, and told her, "c'mon! You know you'd be one of the FIRST ones to know!" - which is absolutely, true, we just haven't told anyone yet. But, I don't know if I pulled it off, I think my face may have shown it... and I'm usually such a good fibber!!! We'll see... I know she'll read this and be like, "I KNEW IT!" - congrats Em, you caught me! I just hope I was somewhat believable.....

Week 6 in Review

This is a post just on general feelings and a check up, if you will. So! Week 6ish...everything I'm reading says "food aversion" this, "food aversion" that - I keep seeing how people smell something and want to gag. Huh.... really?? I swear, maybe it's just me, but EVERYTHING I eat tastes like it is the BEST thing I've ever had! And when I'm hungry, I'm starving! ...And when something smells good, I feel like I'm in heaven. I'm kind of surprised what I'm drawn to right now, like....

Things I can't get enough of this week:

* Cuties Oranges - I literally ate 3 before realizing it, and would have kept going, but I only packed 3. :(
* Sour Cream and Onion Popchips - they're only 100 calories a bag, and healthy-ish, right?
*Oh my gosh - Earl Grey Tea with vanilla and creamer - holy schmoles, yum.
*and surprisingly, water. I can't get enough - I crave it. And if you know me, you're probably reread this twice, because I used to despise water...crazy!
*Sour Patch Kids - I've never had a red taste so, red. A green taste so, green. Etc. Delish!!
*Oh, and last night, the hubs made brussell sprouts, (which I have a normal aversion to, like choke down with milk and try not to breath while eating) ...something about them last night, they were delicious, delicious! I think I ate over half of all of them. Crazzzyyy.

There hasn't been anything that has made my stomach turn (except the dried fish smell at Chinatown in Canada, oh my gosh, YUCK!!!) It's weird though, there are things that I used to LOVE, like, won't turn down, and now, I probably would, they just don't sound good, like...
*caffiene - lattes, coffee, iced coffee, rockstars, soda, none of it.
*cupcakes, which I never turn down, they don't even make my mouth water -
*and for the first time tonight, I had 2 slices of a chocolate caramel apple (one of my favorite things to eat, ever) - and was done. Too rich. 2 slices!! Usually I split one with the hubs and usually sneak an extra piece. Sad.

So, as of this week -
*Food aversions - false.
*Crazy bathroom breaks - true. At least 2x a night and all day long, and any time I get into the car.
*The ladies? Hell yeah (true!) - well at least I'm forcing myself to believe so. They hurt like hell, sensitive as all get out, (I actually had to wear a sports bra, for necessity, not confidence) - and yeah, I'd say, perfect timing for Victoria's Secrets Annual Sale - score!
*Morning sickness? False, and let's keep it that way!
*Moodiness? I don't think so, well, I will say that EVERYONE on the road is a terrible driver and doesn't know how to use a gas pedal, and customer service is crap most places, and people in general are rude, but me personally, I've been perfect! ;) ...maybe a little less patient, but I don't know if I can blame that on pregnancy.

Cheers to New Years - Canadia Style

Date: December 29, 2011-January 1, 2012
Time: All Day/ Night
Where: Vancouver, BC

So, I've decided I'm prepared myself pretty poorly for this whole pregnancy hiding business. In the past, I have usually been the party starter; the one who encourages everyone to take shots; the one who doesn't usually make excuses in social settings. So I'm sure you can see why, of all holidays, New Year's Eve is going to be my Everest - if we can make it through this weekend, I think we're in the clear. Sure, I've tricked my way through Christmas Eve, and the holidays, but this is 4 days with our best friends, who know us better than anyone. We've got a 6 hour car ride up, sharing a hotel, all day, all night, and a NYE party to look forward to. This, is my challenge.

Before we head up, Brandon and I chat game plans and we really don't come up with anything solid. Honestly, I think he and I both thought we couldn't pull it off, but we were going to try! We made a stop liquor store into Bellingham before we cross the border to get stocked up, and Brandon decides he wants Mai Tai makings..... (GENIUS!!) I can just drink pineapple juice and grenadine! ....I wonder if this was part of his plan all along, or if this was on the spot, either way, it was perfect! So then my excuse for not picking out a vodka to share was that "I would probably stick to rum drinks" - you know, mixing is bad. At this point, I think I'm actually giddy, like, this plan may just work!

Fast forward to the next day. Now, like I mentioned before, I haven't really prepared myself properly, the other thing I never turn down is coffee. What can I say, I'm from the NW, it's in my blood. I was able to sneak a Chai Tea Latte on the road trip up, but I didn't think I'd be able to keep up that shtick. We head out first thing to find a Blenz Coffee (I think this is Canada's equivalent to Starbucks, there was one of every block!) Brandon and I went up to the counter and ordered our coffees - his: extra hot mocha. Mine: Non-fat, no-foam, Decaf, Maple Latte - which I had to repeat like 3 times - so at the very least, if I was found, I could say the barista was confused and must have screwed it up. (by the way, the coffee is terrible in Canada, maybe it was because it was decaf, or maybe just because it was bad, either way, no bueno). We also grabbed coffee again the next morning with our crepes, and same thing decaf (whisper) latte - meh. But still, if I turned down getting coffee I was sure to be figured out!!

Ok, so we have another pair of friends that meet up with us, and we all decide to grab dinner one of the first nights. We head out to a local brew pub, and all of a sudden my stomach starts to hurt (wink wink) - now, this, I'm sure would be pretty believable, especially to my best friend, shares a common need for tums, so she was understanding. Beer would only make it hurt worse ya know....not sure how well our other set of friends believed us (especially since we found out on New Year's Day, that our friend's aunt - who knows my husband - apparently told him that I was preggs, like 3 months ago...)....pause.... WTH?! How do these rumors start?! I mean, I've thrown out any shirt that I've worn where some dumba*@ thought it was appropriate to ask, "how far along?" or "oh, you're pregnant!!" - to which my answer is always, "no, and thanks, guess I'll hit the gym, thankyouverymuch" ---but c'mon, seriously!? Who makes this crap up? 3 months ago, I was NOT pregnant, ....now I am...but still. Ok, back to the story....anyway,
upset stomach" excuse worked for the night and I was in the clear!

Fast forward to New Year's Eve...my Everest, the night of deception, my last chance to pull this off. (Oh I should say, out of pure coincidence, one of my New Year's Resolutions, months ago, was to cut out drinking alcohol and coffee and soda , so how perfect, I had a plan in place before I knew I needed it, and witnesses to prove this was a plan before! (*side note, I'm watching Chelsea Lately, and she JUST said "doctors say, you should not stop drinking in January, that a 30 day detox is bad for you...haha weird.) So, prefunking at the hotel before we go out, everyone's getting ready, everyone's drinking, I'm sticking to my mock-tais, and not intentionally, but apparently acting loopy, I guess that works, believable.

We get to the bar, and we have, THE BEST waitress - I pull her aside and tell her the situation, and she makes sure she keeps the drinks coming all night, disguising mine with 2 straws while everyone else's has one. Smart.....she's done this before! The night was a blast, the countdown was kind of anticlimactic, it was like, 3, 2, 1 NEW YEARS - we barely had time to prepare! But all in all, the night was a success and I think we pulled it off!!

Our only screw up the whole weekend was when we were headed out to head home, and had a few Canadian bucks to blow before we crossed the border, we decided to stop at McDonald's - which was in a very unique, almost old church, building - with horrible customer service - horrible! Brandon ordered us both coffees and a few other things, and I kind of gave him a look, since he ordered a regular latte - but I figured he had a plan. We get our stuff and head to the car, and he looks at me...big eyes... and mouths, "I forgot!" - it really was the funniest thing! We get in the back seat and keep joking/ try to figure out what to do, and I try and drink, and NO JOKE, it is the WORST coffee I've ever had - I wouldn't have drank it if I wanted to. So, blessing in disguise again. Yuck.

Overall, great weekend, great friends, and great memories! I think I conquered my Everest, and I think I'm in the clear, for a little bit anyway - especially with my "resolution" in place. I hope when our friends read this, they'll get a kick out of our deceptiveness and sneakery, it was pretty fun.

Ok ok, longest post ever - but speaking of fun - by best friend and I decided to "Horsehead Canada" - quite possible the funniest thing, ever. I got cramps I laughed so hard - I could explain it, but the photos speak for themselves!
